Interflex
Exposure Units
|
Features
Short
Exposures, High Productivity
Interflex
Exposure Units are specifically designed to expose photopolymer
printing plates. Therefore
reflection lamps (tubes) have been chosen with a wavelength
of 365Nm (UVA type), resulting in a powerful and fast
exposure. These lamps are fitted with electronic
starters, thus no pre-exposure warm up is required and
long life is guaranteed.
Interflex Exposure Units operate
at an optimum working temperature of 104° - 122° F
(40° - 50° C). Interflex Exposure Units
are outfitted with circulation fans to avoid overheating
during exposure, which could cause surface damage and
flawed exposures. The number and size of these
circulation fans are determined by the distance from
lamp to plate and the intensity of the UVA lamps.
Complete
Equipment
Interflex Exposure Units
are fitted with maintenance-free vacuum pumps
and filters, reflection-free vacuum tables,
yellow interior lights, hour counters and two
timers. All of the Interflex
Exposure Units can be upgraded with a light
integration system. Each model has 2
drawers below the exposure unit, ample for
the safe storage of the photopolymer plates. Model
IFE 5 / 80 has a manual hood closing and raising
system; the three larger models have automatic
hood closing and raising and are preset amid
your required exposure cycle.

Safe
and Secure Drying
Interflex
Drying Units have been designed for dyring
water and solvent washable photopolymer plates. Each unit utilizes
forced hot air, an air circulation filter and
is controlled with and LCD thermostatic control. Built-in,
high out put circulation fans an even temperature
throughout the overall dryer.The
Interflex Drying Units have been designed to
be over pressurized to force evaporated fumes
into the exhaust system. Each drying
drawer has a unique twist lock knob and is hermetically
sealed to prevent undesirable solvent fumes from
leaking into the prepress area. Whenever
a drying drawer is opened; the circulation fans
are programmed to shut down automatically, while
the ventilation continues to exhaust the fumes. In
addition, each drying drawer is equipped with up
to 2 programmable LCD timers. Now its easy
to control your drying time for each individual
plate. Interflex Drying Units are capable
of maintaining a temperature of 194° F / 90° C. |

Features
The plate is exposed using a principle
that differs from conventional techniques. The
UV source is a point light lamp. Light
is guided to the plate using special reflectors
and has an adjustable output. The main
exposure is conducted automatically in 2 consecutive
steps. The initial exposure with a non-scattering
point light source creates sharply defined lines
and dots without shoulders. This image
produced in this step is optimum, but is without
the necessary shoulders. The 2nd step of
main exposure is carried out using a filter. This
filter scatters the light as in conventional
units and produces the needed shoulder. |

Exposure: The
drawer is provided with 9 lamps for the main
and post exposure type UV 40 W 10R. The
UVC exposure takes place in a stainless steel
drawer with 10 lamps type TUV 15W. The
microprocessor system keeps an internal memory
of the lamps life to help determine when it’s
time to replace them. The vacuum system
and the vacuum sheet perfectly hold the negative
to the plate. The lamps and the vacuum
surface are cooled by forced air circulation
inside the drawer. If the lid is opened
the exposure is stopped until the lid is closed
again.
Washout: The
stainless steel tank has a capacity of 5.3
gallons / 20 liters approx. The
nylon brushes are assembled on springs to have
an even pressure on plates of various thicknesses. The
washout platen rotates alternatively in two
directions to ensure an even washout of the
plate and it stops if the lid is opened.
Programming: The
microprocessor controlled keyboard allows the
use to set up to nine customized programs to
control the time of each function: back
exposure, main exposure, post-exposure and
UVC, washout and drying. For the last
two functions it is also possible to set the
temperature in °C. Furthermore, the
display shows the value of the vacuum (in Bar)
and the drying time for each drawer.
Green/Red

Dryer: The
two drawers are provided with a 1000W heater,
forced air circulation and safety switch.
An exhausting system extracts the
solvent fumes from the washout, the exposure and
the dryer. |
